I’m genuinely amazed at the quality and effort that went into the 400+ submissions to the remix challenge over on hitRECord — where members of Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s creative community warped two images from his upcoming BlackBook photo shoot in whatever way they fancied. And they only had three days to do it! (The above from Lawrie Brewster is one of many, many personal favorites.) We’ll run a few selections alongside that story in our October issue, but I could put out a whole issue of these.

Amanda Mooney is a digital kid, manager for PR firm Edelman China’s digital team in Shanghai, co-founder of Edelman’s Millennial consultancy 8095, and writer for PAPER Magazine. “Basically, I feel that the best way to learn in this space is to just do it,” she says. We Are the Digital Kids is a collection Amanda’s influences, explorations in the digital realm, and experiences of living and working in Shanghai.

In April, Dotan Negrin started a journey to develop himself as a pianist. He left New York with his dog, Brando, his upright piano, and a plan to cross the country and perform in improbable public places along the way. Today, Dotan finds a deeper meaning in his experiences. “My mission is to inspire people to create unique projects like this, to pursue their passions. I believe anyone can do anything if they have enough passion,” he says.
